Why else have other executives said they were glad they used your help?

Besides the expertise and job search resources we provide, we frankly were surprised about what we learned over the years was the next most often mentioned reason. It is that they especially appreciated that we helped keep their executive job searches focused and proactively moving forward despite the many other distractions in their lives. They said it helped them avoid a tendency to sometimes be less than aggressive in finding a new position. Conducting a job search can be a somewhat lonely process and apparently having a partner with whom to share accountability during the process is also helpful to even the most accomplished of executives.

Most executives who have done it will confess that conducting a job search was one of the most challenging of their life experiences. Executives are accustomed to achieving objectives with and through other people. The job search process is an individual-only task, especially when confidentiality is required. The collaboration and delegation common to the executive's normal role is absent in most job search situations. The job search task itself is also different from anything most executives have experienced. So those may be some of the underlying explanations of why executives welcome having someone to not only consult with them, but to also share the rather lonely process inherent to conducting a job search, and particularly when it must be a confidential search.
